Warranty and Service

Service Warranty

Scrollpumps Europe offers a standard 2 year manufacturer’s warranty with its products. The warranty is only redeemable if the product was used following the instruction manual provided with it. If the product is not used following the instructions and actions result in damage to the pump, damage shall not be covered under the manufacturer’s service warranty. Any physical damage caused by misuse or mishandling of the product shall not be covered by the warranty.

The scroll pumps and compressors have bearings which need re-greasing after 10,000 hours of running time. It is recommended that service be done by the manufacturer. The service time is usually 3-5 days depending on the type of service.

All Products have been manufactured in conformity with all applicable contractual commitments and applicable Laws and all express and implied warranties. Seller warrants that the Products will operate or perform substantially in conformance with Seller’s published specifications and be free from defects in material and workmanship, when subjected to normal, proper and intended usage by properly trained personnel, for the period of time set forth in the product documentation, published specifications or package inserts. If a period of time is not specified in Seller’s product documentation, published specifications or package inserts, the warranty period shall be one (1) year from the date of shipment to Buyer for equipment and ninety (90) days for all other products (the “Warranty Period”). Seller agrees during the Warranty Period, to repair or replace, at Seller’s option, defective Products so as to cause the same to operate in substantial conformance with said published specifications; provided that Buyer shall (a) promptly notify Seller in writing upon the discovery of any defect, which notice shall include the product model and serial number.

About Scroll Technology
In 1905 Leon Creux obtained the first US patent for a scroll type displacement device and in doing so he revolutionized theories of compression and expansion. The scroll machinery design was discovered to be inherently quiet and low in vibration while returning great efficiency in operation. Due to difficulties in accurately machining the spiral walls and other critical components the scroll device did not enter common use until the 1990′ s when CNC machining technology matured to support production of this revolutionary concept.

A scroll device operates with a fixed scroll interfit with an orbiting scroll. They are paired together with an angular and radial offset that creates a number of line contacts in operation between their spiral curved surfaces. These multiple contacts create a matching number of gas or fluid pockets. As the orbiting scroll makes a non-rotational circular motion the line contacts shift along the spiral curved surfaces, thereby changing the volume in the pockets. The volume increases or decreases depending on the direction of the scroll element’s relative orbiting motion, and thus, the device can be used for compression or expansion.
